My journey into photography and filmmaking was far from straightforward. Still, all my prior life experiences, work & education have brought me to this creative point.

I grew up on a 300-acre cattle & horse farm in Southern Quebec; I spent my childhood in exploration. Brought up free-range, swimming in the river, cross country skiing in the woods in the winter, and roaming around wherever my pony, feet, or bike would take me.

I was fortunate that I could pursue many forms of art from a young age. I was always fascinated with my mum’s Nikon SLR and would often steal it to take pictures of horses, kittens, or flowers. The seed of love for photography was born in those solo days of petty camera theft and lawlessness. If not for my beloved high school art teacher, who encouraged me to go into graphic design in college, I would have pursued photography. What followed was 15 years working as a designer, both in-house and freelance.

I never imagined myself living in California, but shortly after I bought my first digital camera, fate brought me to the San Francisco Bay Area in 2007. Now I film and shoot stills for dance & theatre companies from the Bay Area to Seattle as well as portrait and headshot photography. I know that my graphic design profession has made me a more rounded photographer and filmmaker. These days, my purpose is to use all the skills to magnify and help the lives of artists, performers, and performance organizations through photography and film.

Filmmaking was a slow evolution and came about out of curiosity and a desire to elaborate on the story narrative. It opened up a new world of possibilities and awoke a deep-seated passion I never envisioned. I feel honored to capture moments of life, our vulnerabilities and beauty and everything in between.
