About
I’m a military spouse, a mom, and a registered dietitian — but my story started in an unexpected place: the 2020 pandemic. Bored at home like everyone else, I finally downloaded TikTok, convinced I was “too old” for it. At first, my feed was full of dancing videos, but soon it shifted to recipes, dieting trends, and nutrition content. As a junior studying food and nutrition, I knew most of the diet‑culture claims were nonsense, but I stayed a silent observer.
One day, out of boredom and curiosity, I filmed a simple dinner video. It was unedited, messy, and didn’t even show the final dish — yet it went viral. That small spark pushed me to share more of my easy, nutritious recipes. My tagline became, “Do you need a super simple dinner?” and people loved it. Still, the amount of diet‑culture on the app bothered me. Inspired by other dietitians, I posted a video debunking a popular nutrition myth, assuming no one would see it.
Nine million people did.
The comment section was intense, but the support outweighed the negativity. People told me my content felt like a safe space — a break from shame‑based dieting messages. That encouragement pushed me to keep going. I shared recipes, myth‑busting videos, and eventually my journey through graduation, my unpaid internship, studying for the RD exam, and finally becoming a registered dietitian.
Throughout it all, I stayed honest about my mental health, struggles, wins, and real life. My followers have been with me through college, marriage, pregnancy, motherhood, moves, and career changes. Thanks to them, my platform has grown to over 1 million followers on TikTok and 140K on Instagram — something I never imagined.
Today, I’m living my dream: creating content I wish I had seen as a teenager. I want NutritionalSarah to reach the busy mom who needs simple meals, the teen struggling with food, and anyone tired of diet culture. I have big goals, but none of this would be possible without you. Thank you for being here.
