Redlex Fysio – Appointment
At Redlex Physio you can easily make an appointment for physiotherapy for dancers without a referral from your doctor or specialist.
At your first appointment, we will first hold a screening/intake interview. We make an inventory of your request for help, complaints, any limitations in activities and participation, and your personal goals. If this intake shows that physiotherapy is the appropriate method to help you get rid of your complaints, we will perform a physical examination with you. This is of course to investigate where the complaint is located in the body and what the cause of this complaint is. Based on the research results, we will draw up a treatment plan together with you. This is tailor-made as each individual often needs a different approach, which works for him or her. From the second appointment we will start working with you, following the treatment plan that we have drawn up together with you.
Each treatment takes 25 minutes and we apply (in consultation with you) various physiotherapy techniques, if we are sure that this technique will work for you and your complaint. Massages, stretching techniques, dry needling, taping, exercise therapy, advice, shockwave, E-stim, Ultrasound, coaching and/or guidance, are regularly used in a physiotherapy treatment.
How many treatments you need depends on the complaint and/or condition, and how disciplined you are in following the advice and/or exercises you have received.
How is quality guaranteed with us?
Redlex Fysio and its therapists are registered in the legal BIG register (Professions in Individual Healthcare) and CRK (Central Quality Register) Basic requirements apply such as a diploma from the study of physiotherapy. The title of physiotherapist is protected by law and may therefore not be used by everyone.
We are also registered in the Physiotherapy Quality Register. The Royal Dutch Society for Physiotherapy (KNGF) pursues an active policy to further increase the quality of physiotherapy. Those who meet all the requirements of treatments, practical experience, training and professional consultation are admitted to the KNGF’s Physiotherapy Quality Register.
About
Physiotherapy for dancers, what is the difference?
Dance-oriented Physio is not that different from normal physiotherapy, but requires a faster approach. A dancer should pay close attention to his or her body and not ignore signs of injury, but have them treated immediately. This is to prevent them from becoming chronic complaints. To prevent future complaints/injuries, it is desirable that a dancer or athlete has himself or herself regularly treated by a sports masseur or physiotherapist. Regular patients demand much less from their body and often come to the physiotherapist later. Dancers demand much more from their bodies in terms of flexibility, strength, endurance, stability and coordination. These qualities must all be and remain in top condition for an optimal dance performance.
