About
Kevin Richardson is an acclaimed dance photographer based in New York City and the creator of Dance As Art: The New York Photography Project. His passion for taking photographs of dancers on location is more than evident in his images that both inspire and delight and what started as “a bit of a hobby” has been seen by millions around the world.
With no formal training in photography whatsoever, in the summer of 2014 he took his gear out to Coney Island for what would be his first location shoot and has done a location photo shoot with dancers in his Dance As Art Project almost every week since then, creating an impressive body of work that has been exhibited in New York City in solo shows and in private collections around the world.

A former natural bodybuilder who “spent most of his time on the other end of the camera,” Kevin has been called one of the most sought after personal trainers in New York City, in what he jokingly refers to as his “other life.” Kevin’s intimate knowledge of the human form shines through in his work and he has worked as a contributing photographer for several bodybuilding and fitness magazines. Kevin’s work opened the door for him to do portrait and event photography for celebrity figures in New York City and has taken him to the other side of the world to do work for corporations in Asia
Kevin lives in Brooklyn with his blended family of five truly wonderful children.
