About
Mounarath Powell Dance (MPD) is seeking a part-time Youth Ballet Teacher to support and strengthen our growing ballet program. We believe classical ballet is the foundation of all dance styles and are looking for a passionate, knowledgeable educator who can foster discipline, artistry, and age-appropriate technical progression in young dancers.
Position Overview:
This part-time, in-person position requires teaching in our fully equipped studio in La Mesa. The ideal candidate will bring strong classical ballet training, a love for teaching children, and a collaborative spirit.
Responsibilities:
- Teach Ballet Levels 1, 2, and 3 to students ages 5–18
- Create and submit bi-monthly lesson plans with clear technical progression
- Provide age- and level-appropriate instruction rooted in classical ballet technique
- Collaborate with the Ballet 4 and Pre-Pointe teacher to support technical development and readiness for advancement
- Evaluate student performance and offer constructive feedback and recommendations
- Maintain a positive, patient, and encouraging classroom environment
- Communicate clearly and professionally with students, families, and fellow faculty
- Arrive prepared, punctual, and ready to teach each class
Schedule/Compensation:
- Pay based on experience
- Thursdays, afternoons and evenings
- Once per week
